K-9 Team

The Orem Police Department K-9 Team consists of three handlers. The dogs are continually trained and annually certified in narcotics detection and suspect apprehension. All of the dogs are owned and maintained at Department cost. At times the Department has received generous personal donations of money to help purchasing dogs. The dogs live at home with the handler and their family.  The Department K-9 Team has proven successful in detecting the presence of drugs during traffic stops, search warrants and aiding in the apprehension of suspects hiding from police.
