Summer Swimming Lessons and Summer Recreation Swim Team
OREM SUMMER RECREATION SWIM TEAM (at the OUTDOOR City of Orem Scera Park Pools)
Ages: 6-up AND at least level 4 swimming ability
Orem City Resident Pre-Registration: (NEW THIS YEAR) Thurs, May 7, 4-6 pm in person at the Orem Fitness Center (proof of residency required for each participant)
Regular Registration begins: Mon, May 11, 5 am
Preview Day: Sat, May 16, 12 noon (required for new participants)
Practice Begins: June 1
Fee: $90
Orem City residents will be given the opportunity to pre-register for this program on Thursday, May 7 at 4-6 pm in the upstairs foyer of the Orem Fitness Center. Proof of Orem City residency will be required for EVERY participant.

Summer Swimming Lessons
The Orem Recreation Department is dedicated to providing an opportunity for children in our community to become safe when they are in, on, or around water. The City of Orem teaches the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. The program covers skills and knowledge in a logical progression for aquatic skill development.
Morning swimming lessons will be offered BOTH at the OUTDOOR SCERA PARK POOLS and at the INDOOR OREM FITNESS CENTER from 9:00 am-12:00 noon. Afternoon lessons are available indoor at the Fitness Center from 4:00-6:00 pm. . All classes are 30 minutes long. All levels are offered at all times. . Prices, dates, and times will be the same for both. It is imperative that parents distinguish which pool they would like at the time of registration!
Registration for ALL lessons begins May 12, 5 a.m. online at www.orem.org or in person at the Orem Fitness Center (580 W 165 S).
AGAIN THIS YEAR: Classes will be taught Monday through Friday the first week and Monday through Thursday the second week. This will allow for the last Friday to be used to make up lessons in the case of inclement weather. If weather does not affect the use of that Friday, it will be offered as a free swim (from 9 a.m. - noon) for all participants and their immediate family (children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by an adult). Students signed up at either facility may attend the free swim from 9-12 at either location (indoor or outdoor).
A $5.00 non-refundable fee will be charged for all class transfers and refunds. No refunds will be given after the first day of class. For additional information please call Kirsten Siebach at 801-229-7159.
Each session consists of nine (9) one-half (½) hour lessons, unless otherwise designated (*). Dates and prices for upcoming sessions are as follows:

The Orem Recreation Department also offers private and semi-private swim lessons for all ages and abilities. Private lessons are $36 per student for four (4) one-half hour lessons.
